On November 7, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Shusha TV & Radio Broadcasting Station.
The President and First Lady were informed about Shusha TV & Radio Broadcasting Station.
It is worth mentioning that Shusha TV & Radio Broadcasting Station was built in 1966. In the Soviet times, this station was used to broadcast television and radio programs to Karabakh and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Before the occupation of Shusha, the Armenians by all means prevented the broadcasting of television and radio programs in these regions. Thus, the station was repeatedly subjected to shelling by the Armenians from heavy artillery pieces, due to which the equipment here was damaged, and the technical building was also severely damaged. In 1992, during the occupation of Shusha, the station was out of control.
After the victory won in the Patriotic War, the organization of television and radio broadcasting was temporarily resumed at Shusha TV and Radio Broadcasting Station on December 31 last year. Thus, broadcasting of 11 television programs from this station was provided in the cities of Shusha and Khankendi, Khojaly and Aghdam, Barda regions, as well as in the nearby settlements. The construction of a 130-meter metal tower and a technical building to be built under this project is further proof that Azerbaijan has become one of the countries with a developed telecommunications system.
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva laid the foundation for Shusha TV & Radio Broadcasting Station.
The new tower to be built will provide uninterrupted and high-quality television and radio broadcasting in Shusha and surrounding areas.
