A meeting was held at the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) with a delegation headed by chairman of National Engineering and Scientific Commission of Pakistan (NESCOM) Muhammad Irfan Burney, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan. Noting the formation of good relations based on mutual trust and support between the two countries in all fields, Minister Ali Abbasov said ICT and high technologies sphere occupy a special role in the development of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations, and spoke about the reforms and projects in this field.Speaking about research of nuclear technologies and use them for peaceful purposes in Azerbaijan, Ali Abbasov noted the interest in further expansion of cooperation in the areas of space and information technologies. Saying Azerbaijan has two satellites in space, and Pakistan’s territory is within the coverage area of satellites, the Minister said Azerbaijan could support to Pakistan in this field. In turn, Muhammed Irfan Burney highlighted the successful development of partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, saying the two countries have always attached great importance to maintain the relations continuing on the basis of friendship. NESCOM Chairman said that he visited the National Nuclear Research Center CJSC under the MCHT, and spoke about the meeting held there. Pakistan with its own rich experience could contribute to the training of personnel in the development of nuclear technology in Azerbaijan, he said. Noting Pakistan’s support to the areas of interest in further deepening of relations, the guest urged the establishment of cooperation in formation of human capital, software and cyber security solutions. The sides noted the importance of joint participation in regional projects taking into account that the two countries have strong potential of information technologies. Then they discussed the directions of future cooperation in new areas with NESCOM, as well as exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
