Deputy Minister awarded Tereggi medal

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on awarding honorary titles to a group of civil servants.

 

Guided by paragraph 23 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of State decided to award persons carrying out productive activities in the public service. Among the awardees is Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh. The Deputy Minister has been awarded Tereggi (Progress) medal.

 

Elmir Velizadeh graduated from AzerbaijanI Oil and Chemistry Institute (now Azerbaijan State Oil Academy) on specialty of Automatized Management System. He was engaged in scientific researches on the theme of artificial intellect and expert systems and is the author of some scientific articles and educational supplies.

 

In 1991, he began working as a first degree specialist at President’s Office. He was successively promoted in this job.

 

Thus, in 1998 he was appointed chief of the Center of Information Resources and Technologies of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2005, he worked as head of department of Information Resources and Technologies of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

On 26 December 2007, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He is currently Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies.

 

Up to now during his activity, he was directly engaged in introduction of information technologies, creation of information systems and maintenance as well as questions concerning this field. He headed the work carried out in the republic for the first time on translation of software into Azerbaijani. He attended and addressed conferences both in our country and abroad many times.
