Azerbaijan, Iran discuss cooperation in ICT field

The Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) has held a meeting with a delegation headed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, co-chairman of the State Commission for Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in the economic, commercial and humanitarian spheres Mahmoud Vaezi.

During the meeting the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the sphere of regulation of radio frequencies in border areas, cyber security, satellite communications, mobile communications, mail, and others.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade congratulated Mahmoud Vaezi on being awarded  “Dostlug”  (Friendship) Order – a high state award of Azerbaijan by  President of  the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his contribution to the development  of friendly relations between the two countries.

The Minister stressed the special role of the communications and high technologies sector in the development of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran.

Expressing gratitude for warm congratulations, Mahmoud Vaezi noted that there is great potential for further expansion of relations between the two countries.

During the meeting it was decided to set up a joint working group to prepare relevant documents for the implementation of the issues discussed.
